This can't be right

Residents in Lymore Avenue have become very upset at local builder Flower & Hayes who have erected a solid wooden fence in front of their Kitchen windows.

The residents tell me that the original planning permission for new homes that were built on the former Reads yard gave permission for a hand rail and not a fence and I have had this confirmed by the councils planning department.

Contact with the developer by both myself and local residents have met with a blank rejection and they do not seem interested in residents who have enjoyed a right of light for many years. The Council have told us that they are unable to force Flower & Hayes to remove the fence.

I feel that the residents have been treated very badly and would hope that the developer of the new homes and would see some common sense and remove the fence that they have erected and put in the original hand rail that the existing residents thought was going to happen.
