Brambles Cleared
The Brambles that have been causing so many problems for residents at Millmead road and the Brickfields have now bee cleared after a request from Councillor Sharon Ball. We have asked that a check is kept on this area and that any brambles are cut away as soon as they appear.
If residents have problems in their area we ask that you let us know as soon as possible so that we are able deal with the issue.

Confusion over bus Shelter
For a long period of time residents have been campaigning for a new bus shelter at the bottom of Bellotts Road on the Lower Bristol Road and a test dig is too shortly to take place with regards to this matter as there are many cables in the ground at this location.
With the development of the new student block a few yards up the road, We have asked that a lay by is installed at this location to allow the buses to get off of the highway and have asked if this would not be a better location for the bus stop and shelter to be installed.

Westmoreland Enews sent to residents.
Bellotts RoadThe matter of speeding traffic has again been raised on Bellotts Road and we have reported this to the council and the Police to take action to reduce the speeds of vehicles in this area.
BrickfieldsWe have asked that some of the seats that have been removed from the Brickfields are replaced so that residents can again enjoy the views over the city of Bath. We have also asked that the footpath that leads through the Brickfields from the Hollow to Millmead Road is cleared of the overgrown brambles.
Lymore Gardens Play AreaThis Children's play area has again been reported for being overgrown with vegetation and the small park that is the responsibility of Somer Housing who we have also asked to replace the wooden fencing that has gone missing.
Lower Bristol RoadThe building of a new student block is well advanced in this area and will accommodates over 300 new students next to the current waterside court that already accommodates 300 Students. We have suggested to government that Student accommodation counts in the allocation of housing that Bath is expected to take under proposals in the Regional Spacial strategy.
Halfpenny Bridge Due to Open SoonNearly 5 months late and over budget the footbridge over the river Avon at the bottom of Fieldings Road is due to open in the next few weeks, The delay in the opening is down to the Conservative administration not listening to local councillors or residents.
School Governor WantedHave you ever thought of being a School Governor if yes, then we have a vacancy for an LEA Governor that may suit you. If you want to know more then please contact us.
Credit Union
In these more difficult times, finance is becoming more of a problem with some residents taking up loan offers from companies lending money at 180% interest rates. Credit Unions offer much safer and more affordable ways of borrowing money and instil a sense of responsibility about saving as well as borrowing. However the Credit Union currently has a small pot of money available to lend to new members who do not currently have a savings record with them.

Please note the Credit Union is not part of the Council.
Bath Highway Engineer
Bath has had no highway engineer since February. NE Somerset has, during this time, retained its two highway engineers. This was an unacceptable situation and at the beginning of June we told the Conservative cabinet member firmly that this had to be resolved swiftly. We are pleased to report that an engineer has been appointed. We will be seeking an early meeting to discuss and take forward the Highways issues we suffer from. One of the early issues that we want to discuss with him is the amount of speeding traffic on some of our roads.
