Fly tipping

We have asked for this old mattress that has been dumped alongside Polamco to be removed as soon as possible.

It is annoying that as we start to get this area cleaned up we get people dumping in the area.

If you saw the person who dumped this then please let us know.

Lansdown View - Fly Tipping

Whilst out and about yesterday, I came across this.  Just because they have put a label on it, does not stop it from being fly tipping.

If you have items that you want to give away, that is fine, but you should either leave them in your garden with the note on or, contact local charities who may be interested.

These items are not always taken by passersby and will not be routinely collected with the rubbish (that it has been placed next to).

Please do not leave large items like this out on the street.

New Year clear up

During a walk around the Westmoreland ward, we noticed a number of rubbish hotspots and have requested that these are cleared up.

We would like to ask all residents across the ward to make 2014 the year everyone of us takes pride in the area we live and help prevent the volume of rubbish that is dumped.  We are all responsible for our own waste and it should be disposed of responsibly.

Full details of what can be collected and recycled from outside your home is shown on the BANES website (http://www.bathnes.gov.uk/services/bins-rubbish-and-recycling).

If you are unsure when you rubbish and recycling is due for collection, please either check the BANES Website or contact us.

Fly Tipping

During a walk around the area yesterday, we came across a quantity of rubbish that has yet again been dumped on Loxton Drive and also on Claude Avenue.

Council guidelines state that you should not leave waste out any earlier than 8pm on the evening before the day it is due to be collected.  If you are caught Fly Tipping you may be liable for a fine.

Please can you ensure your rubbish is not left out any earlier than this as it is not only unsightly, but it could cause health risks and attract animals that could rip open the bags.

If you are unsure when you rubbish is due to be collected, either contact us or check on the BANES website here.

Lower Bristol Road

This morning a group us went out and cleared the rubbish that has been dumped around the Herman Miller Building on the Lower Bristol Road.

We collected 15 bags of rubbish, as well as a travel cot, broken umbrella and discarded recycle bin.

Thank you to those that came out and helped Sharon and I clear up the area, despite the cold weather.

We have also reported the increasing levels of graffiti around this area to BANES and requested it is cleaned up as soon as possible.

Coronation Ave/Ivy Ave Lane clear up

This morning Councillor Sharon Ball and I joined residents to clear up this mess:

Amongst the items we removed were 3 computer monitors, a bike frame and rusty bike wheel, a car wheel, a matress, a sofabed, a rusty barbeque frame and a duvet.  We also filled over 40 waste bags with smaller items of rubbish such as cans, bottles and plastic bags.

Thankfully the rain stayed off and In just under 2 hours we have managed to transform the lane and have left it looking like this:

Look out for more action days that we are organising over the coming months.  If you would like to get involved, please contact us.
