Westmoreland Walkabout

I had a busy weekend just gone, walking aound the streets in Westmoreland and talking to some of the residents.  Whilst I was out I reported a number of issues to BANES including potholes on quite a few roads in the area including West Avenue, Millmead Road, Lymore Avenue and Coronation Avenue, the weeds along many footpaths that are not being looked at, increasing levels of grafitti and quite a lot of overhanging vegetation.

If you have any issues you would like to discuss, please do not forget to contact Cllr Sharon Ball or myself who will be happy to talk to you about them.

Parking restrictions West Ave, Brook Road ,Triangle North Junction

By Sharon Ball

The council have been consulting on the proposals that I put forward for parking restrictions on the dangerous corner where these three roads join.

I asked for restrictions to be put in place here over a year ago after witnessing buses unable to get around the corner, I was also concerned that residents were having difficulty crossing the road having to pick there way through parked cars on both sides of the road.

If the consultation is successful the restrictions will be put in place, I have also received confirmation that the new 20mph speed limits proposed by the council will soon reach this area.

Bin replacement Vernon Terrace

By Sharon Ball

I have asked for the litter bin to be replaced outside of 3 Vernon Terrace that has been for some reason been taken away.

If you walk into town on one side of the Lower Bristol Road there are virtually no litter bins and the area is starting to look rather untidy.

I would hope that the bin could be replaced shortly and I will try to find out why it was removed in the first place.

Hopefully they will get this sorted soon.
