I have again asked the Council and Curo (Somer Housing) to remove that Caravan pictured from the car park at Priddy Close.
I have also asked that there is again a crack down on the amount of trailers that are again taking up valuable parking spaces.

Priddy Close Car Park
We continue our successful campaign to keep the car parks available for cars to park in this ever busy area for parking.
We have asked both the council and Curo housing to ensure that this area is kept clear of trailers and Caravans.
Most residents keep the area clear but one or two persist and after receiving compliant from resident we have asked that one remaining Caravan is removed as soon as possible.

King Georges Road Parking
I have asked Curo (somer) to mark the parking bays in this area as residents parking only.
I have received many complaints over the past twelve months of people who do not live in the area parking up for the day and this is removing the spaces that were reserved for residents when the estate was remodelled over 10 years ago.

New restrctions to help parking problems
I have asked that the council again looks into placing white keep clear lines on the corner of South Ave & West Ave.
I have also asked that they are also placed on the Junctions of Mayfiled Road & South Ave after dangerous parking has been reported and seen on both junctions.

Parking restrictions West Ave, Brook Road ,Triangle North Junction
By Sharon Ball
The council have been consulting on the proposals that I put forward for parking restrictions on the dangerous corner where these three roads join.
I asked for restrictions to be put in place here over a year ago after witnessing buses unable to get around the corner, I was also concerned that residents were having difficulty crossing the road having to pick there way through parked cars on both sides of the road.
If the consultation is successful the restrictions will be put in place, I have also received confirmation that the new 20mph speed limits proposed by the council will soon reach this area.

Crack Down on Pavement Parking
Sharon with Transport Minister Norman Baker |
She was pleased to hear that he felt that councils now had No excuse but to take action as they now had the powers to deal with the problems.
The problems in parts of Westmoreland are very bad and Sharon has already asked the Conservative executive member on Bath & North East Somerset Council to take note of the new powers that he has to act.
