Marks and Spencers Food Hall - opening

Marks & Spencers have announced that the new Food Hall at Weston Lock Retail Park is set to open at 10am on Wednesday June 15th.

This will give the area even more choice of where to shop without the need to travel into the centre of the city.

The store will also have a small cafe seating 24 people.

The store will be open Monday – Saturday from 8am to 8pm and 10.30am – 4.30pm on Sundays.

Currys PC World refurbishment - Weston Lock

Following discussions with staff, we can confirm that Currys PC World at Weston Lock is currently closed and will be closed for approximately 2 weeks, whilst the refurbishment of Unit A is finished and stock is moved to enable Currys PC World to operate from this side of the site.

This will mean that Currys PC World will then vacate Unit B and this will be free for Marks & Spencers to complete their work to enable the new food store to be opened in this section of the building.

Marks & Spencer come to Weston Lock

After getting the go ahead for Lidl on the former Herman Miller site one of the worst kept secrets in the area is out and that is Marks & Spencer are to take up residence at Weston Lock on the Lower Bristol Road.

A new planning application has been submitted for Marks & Spencer Just food to occupy half of the site currently occupied by Curry's and PC World.

This exciting project means there will be greater choice for local residents on their shopping needs.

Marks and Spencer tell us that they will be employing local staff and that there would be about 65 new jobs created.

Weston Lock

We are pleased to see the tidying of the land outside of McDonald's with new fencing being erected grass and gravel put down.

We hope that this area will stay tidy.

On a further matter we are hearing that there are changes being made to the main retail unit PC World & Currys with a new retail outlook being proposed for half of the unit.

We will investigate this further and come back with a more detailed report in the next few weeks.
